What is the nature of the business ?

The world has changed in the 21st century. Different areas of business have converged to create new and larger opportunities - gaining more profits - embracing more people with those profits - and spanning global markets.

The larger competitive pressures of the global economy ignited by the computer and the Internet have brought major multi- billion dollar companies (Cingular Wireless - the largest cell phone company in the U.S., Dish Satellite and MCI to name a few) to look at creative, new channels of distribution for their products and services. They want their RESIDUAL income just like you and I. There is no lack of supply in the world today BUT it has become increasingly more difficult for these companies to " get the word out " to the people ... the consumer. Why is that a problem ?

Consumers are scattered across a media universe and these very large mainstream companies need an effective marketing channel to get to the consumer. There are now too many media channels to effectively market to the end consumer. It simply costs too much - and it isn't going to cost less in the future. Satellite radio, newspapers, 150 TV channels, Internet, magazines, etc. have given people too many choices as well as the choice of eliminating the commercials.

How to these large companies get their message to the consumer cost effectively ?
How do they get the consumer to actually buy their product or service ?
How do they get that new customer to stay for a long period of time ?
How do they keep their competition from taking that customer away ?

Network marketing (MLM) provides "word of mouth" advertising for the company to the customer. "Word of mouth" advertising is, as we all know, the most effective form of marketing both in reaching and keeping the consumer as an ongoing customer.
